Udo Bullmann wird für die Wahl des Vorsitzes der sozialdemokratischen Fraktion nicht zur Verfügung stehen

Wie Udo Bullmann heute in Brüssel erklärt, wird er für die Wahl des Vorsitzes der sozialdemokratischen Fraktion am morgigen Dienstag, 18. Juni 2019, nicht zur Verfügung stehen.

„Zusammen haben wir in den letzten 14 Monaten einen grundlegenden Wandel unserer politischen Ausrichtung bewirkt. Die sozialdemokratische Fraktion orientiert ihre Arbeit an der Verwirklichung der Agenda 2030 der Vereinten Nationen. Wir stehen wie keine andere politische Kraft für Nachhaltigkeit, Solidarität und soziale Teilhabe. Für eine Gesellschaft, die niemanden zurücklässt und zur Bewältigung der großen vor uns liegenden Aufgaben auf die Mitwirkung aller setzt. Diesen Weg müssen wir entschieden weitergehen.“

„Allerdings sehe ich augenblicklich angesichts des Überhangs nationaler Interessen in den Gesprächen um die Übernahme zentraler Leitungsfunktionen in der S&D-Fraktion die Bedingungen für eine erfolgreiche Fortführung meiner Arbeit an der Spitze der Fraktion als nicht gegeben an.“

„Selbstverständlich steht meine Arbeit weiterhin im Dienst der S&D-Fraktion. Der Aufbruch, den wir mit unserer Initiative „Progressive Society“ und unserem Bericht für „Nachhaltigkeit und Gerechtigkeit“ gestartet haben, darf nicht aufgehalten werden.“

„Die sozialdemokratische Fraktion im Europäischen Parlament muss dabei zur einigenden Kraft und zum entscheidenden Motor werden. Sie sollte Tendenzen zur Renationalisierung ihrer Arbeit widerstehen.“

Udo Bullmann not available to continue as leader of the S&D Group

Today, Udo Bullmann announced that he is not available to continue as leader of the Socialists and Democrats Group in the European Parliament in the S&D Group leadership election taking place tomorrow. Bullmann states:

“Together, we have fundamentally changed our political course in the past 14 months. The United Nations 2030 agenda has become the compass for the work of the S&D Group. Like no other political force, we stand for sustainability, solidarity and civic participation as well as for a society that leaves nobody behind and involves everybody in tackling the big challenges ahead of us. We have to continue this path with all our strength and determination.

“Currently, it seems as if national interests have a stronger purchase on the debate about leadership positions in the S&D Group than content-based visions for the way forward. In light of this, I take note that, at present, the conditions for a successful continuation of my work at the helm of the S&D are not given.

“I will of course continue to work in the service of the S&D Group. We must not allow the progressive momentum we have created with our Progressive Society Initiative and our Sustainable Equality report to wane.

“The Group of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament is needed as the uniting and driving force striving for progressive change. It should withstand tendencies towards a renationalisation of its work.” 

Udo Bullmann n'est pas disponible pour poursuivre la Présidence du Groupe S&D

Aujourd'hui, Udo Bullmann a annoncé qu'il n'était pas disponible pour poursuivre la Présidence du Groupe S&D du Parlement Européen, en vue de l'élection qui aura lieu demain. Bullmann a déclaré:

"Ensemble, nous avons fondamentalement changé notre trajectoire politique au cours des 14 derniers mois. L'agenda 2030 des Nations Unies est devenu la référence pour le travail du Groupe S&D. Plus que toute autre force politique, nous nous dressons pour le développement durable, la solidarité et la participation civique, et pour une société qui ne laisse personne au bord du chemin et associe chacun dans le combat contre les grands défis qui nous font face. Nous devons poursuivre dans cette voie, avec toute notre force et détermination.

"En ce moment, dans le débat sur les postes à responsabilité au sein du Groupe S&D, il semble que les intérêts nationaux priment sur le contenu et la vision pour l’avenir. Dans ce contexte, je note qu’à présent les conditions d’une continuation fructueuse de mon travail à la tête du S&D ne sont pas réunies.

"Je continuerai bien évidemment à travailler au service du Groupe S&D. Nous ne pouvons laisser s'étioler la dynamique politique que nous avons créée avec notre initiative de la Progressive Society et notre rapport sur l'égalité soutenable.

"Le Groupe des Socialistes et Démocrates au Parlement Européen est nécessaire, en tant que force unificatrice et motrice pour un changement progressiste. Il devrait se garder de toute tendance à renationaliser son travail".
